I have read what Laura wrote in her blog and I think that after reading what she put it is worth saying again that with older adults you have to have a lot of patience and understanding. Most of the people that we might be teaching are not as fast at picking up on how to do things on the computer and we will need to remember that as we go along and not get upset with them about it. They will make mistakes and it will be up to us to make them feel good about their abilities that they will use after we have gone.

U Blog 2

After rereading CPT 2 I find that the needs assessment template sound like a very good tool to use by the training department to plan and do different training courses because it goes from the lowest person all the way to the highest person in a given company and makes the training department's job at least in part easier. the structure is such that it brings in ideas from all areas of the company and that makes it easier to design a training program for each level of the company. It would also mean that the money that the company spends on training will go to better management of that resource.

U Blog 1

In this blog I would like to address the reading that I did in cpt 1. Where it is said that the learning goals and the Organizational goals should be linked to each other I wonder if it should be modified to let some of the people seek other forms of learning that is out there so that the individual can expand their own knowledge that is not part of the area that they are in so that they become a more well rounded person. If I was not able to seek other areas of interest to me during my time at a job I would not be as willing to stay there as if I were incourged to learn more than just what is needed for the job that I was doing. It is very important to me to be able to seek out different areas of learning that could be more important for me than just one area that the managers might want me to learn. For example If I wanted to learn more about business law and I thought that it would help me understand more about the business that I might like to persue I feel that the company that I might work for would see it as a way to make sure that we were doing things in a leagal way any it would help the business better achive it's goal of making money.

Workplace Learning

What I have learned from the sites that I explored from my bookmarks is that the workforce in America needs to have more training in all areas of the work environment. the trends are for more savy workers that can do different things with computers than their competiers with the same equipment The workers have to be able to move from one database to another with little or no training needed up front. The trainers have to be more creative in their training sessions to help the workers understand the different roles that they will be required to handle as their jobs evolve into the different areas and they are given more responsibilities. The future of business is a growing area that the trainers will have to adapt to in order to be successful in.
